To keep your furniture looking beautiful for years to come, try these preventative and maintenance tips:

• Try to keep furniture out of direct sunlight to prevent fading (try to avoid placing furniture in front of or under windows if you can.) Curtains or shades should be used to diffuse or block sunlight when possible.
• Place furniture away from heating and air conditioning vents. The heat can cause shrinking that can loosen glue joints, veneers and inlays.
• Carefully blot up spills immediately to prevent staining. Check the manufacturer’s standardized cleaning instructions which list the preferred spot cleaning methods.
• Prevent spills, stains or marks by using coasters, placemats and tablecloths to protect furniture during use.
• Lift and place items instead of sliding across furniture surfaces.
• Care for your furniture regularly by dusting frequently and polishing every 4-6 months.
• When using any type of cleaning product, test it in an inconspicuous area first.
